Early in 2017 I was contacted by the card company Woodmansterne . They had seen my “Donkeys in Snow” painting on my Instagram feed and wanted to use the image for Christmas cards.
I was quite flattered as you might imagine and, after contacting Flora Lee who had bought the original painting, I gave them permission to use the image. I was paid a small sum and promised some cards for my own use once they had been printed.
Late last week I was surprised to open a box that arrived by courier contained quite a few packs of my Christmas cards from Woodmansterne. They had cropped the original image and called the donkeys “Christmas Morning”
I was also very pleased to see that the cards were for the NSPCC childline charity which makes them all the more special. They will be available shortly from local stockists…..Enjoy your day!
Back in March my detailed pastel artwork came to the attention of Alice Fenner of the Retired Greyhound Trustcharity through twitter and she contacted me regarding my undertaking a portrait of a retired greyhound. We agreed to a reduced price ( to cover my costs ) and completed the portrait by mid April. You can read more HERE…..
The finished commission is to be used to raise money for the charity through the sale of Christmas cards that have my portrait on them and you can see them HERE…They look great and I am buying some for myself. Have a look and support a charity that gives these beautiful dogs a chance of a good life in a loving home!
Very pleased to be part of this excellent exhibition being held at the Bishops Palace in Hereford by the Cathedral from today until Monday ( May 2nd) The preview last night was well attended and we hope that people will come and enjoy the art as well as the beautiful gardens ( rarely open to the public) and the river views. The River Carnival is on this weekend too! So some to Hereford and see what you have been missing all these years!
Delighted to deliver the completed Christmas greyhound commission to Alice Fenner of the Retired Greyhound Trust last Wednesday. I am looking forward to seeing the cards and sundries that will be created from this lovely pastel painting in due course. And I will be posting a video of the steps to create this to my pastel work in progress facebook page soon. Completed in soft pastel and pastel pencils on Artspectrum Colourifx paper from a photo provided by the charity…..
Progressing very well with this commission using soft pastel and pastel pencils. As the image will be used for Christmas cards and assorted sundries it needs to be at the printers in the next few weeks so I will be delivering it to the Retired Greyhound Trust offices near Kingston on Thames next week ( we will be in the area ). Alice Fenner at the Trust is also pleased with the progress which is a relief! You can see more of my dog commission work on my website. I am also doing some “work in progress” photos and videos and these will posted soon along with the completed commission. Enjoy your day!
Another piece of good news. I have been asked to undertake a commission of a greyhound for the Retired Greyhound Trust Have started today and will have updates as I progress. Very proud to be asked as the image will be used for Christmas cards and other merchandise. Thank you to Lisa Morris-Tomkins who spotted my work in twitter!
Have donated some artwork to help raise money for this charity, having been inspired by Angie Gilchrist who spent Christmas in Lesvos. “Raising funds to help people affected by the worst humanitarian crisis since WW11. Initially funds will be directed to Idomeni.” There will be a website soon where you can bid for my work as well as that of artists from Liverpool and elsewhere across the UK. Proud to be part of it!
